The Manatee is a satirical news site co-founded in 2014 by Shauna Chase and Alex Vietinghoff. The Manatee covers and satirizes current and fictional affairs in New Brunswick, and boasts a wide viewership with an active website that publishes two stories per weekday. The Manatee has received much media attention, with Alex’s stories being covered by CBC, Radio-Canada and province-wide papers, and one of his videos surpassing 100,000 views in just a week.
